SUMMARY:Bluegrass Fest
DESCRIPTION:One night only! Experience an outdoor event of down-home charm and soul-stirring tunes that echo through the rolling hills. Whether you’re a seasoned picker or a first-time listener\, join us as we gather under the open sky to celebrate the timeless traditions and vibrant spirit of bluegrass music. Headlining this year’s Bluegrass Fest is… Sister Sadie!\n\nThe music begins at 5:30pm outside. Bring your chairs!\n\nATLANTA BLUEGRASS BAND\nTANASI\nSISTER SADIE\n**************\n\nSISTER SADIE\nSister Sadie is a force to be reckoned with in the bluegrass genre and beyond. Formed serendipitously during a one-off jam session at Nashville’s legendary Station Inn\, the group’s undeniable chemistry transformed a casual collaboration into a full-time powerhouse. Today\, Sister Sadie is celebrated for their electrifying performances\, stellar musicianship and the seamless blend of tradition and innovation they bring to bluegrass music. The band is composed of six supremely talented musicians\, each with a rich history of individual achievements that elevate the collective magic of Sister Sadie. \nSister Sadie has released three critically acclaimed albums. Their debut\, Sister Sadie (2016)\, introduced their masterful musicianship to the world\, while Sister Sadie II (2018) solidified their reputation as one of the leading acts in bluegrass. That release\, Sister Sadie II\, was a watershed moment\, earning a Grammy nomination for “Best Bluegrass Album.”\nThe band has also claimed the IBMA Vocal Group of the Year award three times\, in 2019\, 2020 and 2021\, highlighting their exceptional harmonies and innovative arrangements\, as well as Entertainer of the Year in 2020. \nIn 2024\, Sister Sadie released their long-awaited third release\, No Fear\, marking a triumphant return for Sadie\, blending their bold artistry with the energy and resilience that have defined the group through the years. From “Diane\,” a spirited country cover debuted at the IBMA Awards in 2023 to the chart-topping\, Ashley McBryde-written “Willow\,” No Fear has proven that Sister Sadie is stronger than ever\, showcasing deep artistry and a fearless spirit that makes them a leading voice in bluegrass today – and ultimately presented the band with their second Grammy nomination\, once again for “Best Bluegrass Album.” \nWhether performing at the Grand Ole Opry\, headlining major festivals or recording award-winning albums\, Sister Sadie exemplifies the spirit of bluegrass while pushing its boundaries. Their commitment to storytelling\, technical prowess and heartfelt performances ensures they remain at the forefront of the genre. With a shared passion for their craft and a dedication to excellence\, Sister Sadie is more than a band—they are a movement\, carrying the torch for bluegrass music into the future while honoring its rich traditions. \n\nTANASI\nTANASI is a worldgrass trio based in Asheville\, North Carolina\, channeling global folk traditions through the drive\, textures\, and close harmonies of an Appalachian string band. With Billy Cardine on dobro and slide instruments\, Anya Hinkle on vocals and guitar\, and Mary Lucey on vocals\, upright bass\, and clawhammer banjo\, the group unites three widely acclaimed roots artists whose combined careers span decades of touring\, recording\, and cross-cultural exchange. Their music follows the invisible threads that connect cultures\, landscapes\, and hearts—from Nepal’s high plateaus and South African villages to the mountains of Appalachia—celebrating the shared human rhythms that surface wherever people gather to sing\, dance\, grieve\, and love.\n\nThe members of TANASI have appeared on iconic stages including Carnegie Hall\, the Kennedy Center\, and the Ryman Auditorium\, and at leading festivals such as Bonnaroo\, MerleFest\, Grey Fox\, RockyGrass\, and the Earl Scruggs Music Festival\, alongside performances across Europe and Asia. Cardine is recognized as a pioneering voice in modern slide work\, collaborating with artists including John Paul Jones\, Edgar Meyer\, Jerry Douglas\, and Debashish Bhattacharya. Lucey helped define contemporary string band music through The Biscuit Burners and Uncle Earl\, while Hinkle is an award-winning songwriter with internationally celebrated solo releases.\n\nIn 2025\, TANASI received a National Endowment for the Arts USArtists International Grant. They will release their self-titled debut album\, TANASI\, in 2026.\n\nATLANTA BLUEGRASS BAND\nFounded by Jared Lanham\, Atlanta Bluegrass Band combines up-tempo and high lonesome bluegrass sounds with modern song selections. Ranging from bluegrass standard hits to clever arrangements of classic rock\, this band is sure to entertain! The band also performs a multitude of gospel repertoire.\n\nFriday\, Apr. 24\, 5:30 to 9:30 p.m.

SUMMARY:Gary Lewis and The Playboys®
DESCRIPTION:Gary Lewis was about as close to being an “overnight success” in the recording field as anyone can get. And – just because it happens so seldom – it is always a special thrill when show business lightning strikes twice in the same family. The comedy antics of Jerry Lewis skyrocketed him to fame when he was just barely out of his teens. No. 1 son Gary had achieved comparable success in the music field… also at a young and carefree age. It was the summer of 1964 when Gary Lewis and The Playboys® were discovered by producer Snuff Garret. Before long\, with the producer/arranger team of Garrett and Leon Russell behind them\, they took their first single\, This Diamond Ring straight to number one. After their second hit titled Count Me In went to number two\, Gary and the band proved that they would be a continued success. They followed with more Top 10 songs such as Save Your Heart For Me\, Everybody Loves A Clown\, She’s Just My Style\, Sure Gonna Miss Her\, and many more. \nLocation: Flint Hall \n\nFriday\, May 8\, 3 p.m.\nFriday\, May 8\, 7:30 p.m.
